Product Design is probably the number one factor in the success of any retail merchandise. The design will determine the appeal of the product to the consumer, and will dictate the cost of manufacturing.
Design time is an important consideration in the commercial sewing process. According to Wikipedia, "Designing often necessitates considering the aesthetic, functional, economic and sociopolitical dimensions of both the design object and design process. It may involve considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive adjustment, and re-design."
Being thorough throughout the design process is imperative in order to fulfill consumer expectations of aesthetics, function and durability, and to fulfill manufacturer cost expectations.
At Block by Block Industries, custom sewn product designs are first discussed with the Operations Manager in the initial consultation. This discussion continues between the developer and the client until the sewn product goes through production. All aspects of design are considered, including colors, fabrication, notions, thread and stitch length, while keeping in mind the limitation of each material used in the product. Some of the sewn products we have helped our clients design include:
- Handbags and Purses
- Totes and Duffle Bags
- Lunch Bags
- Dopp Kits
- Quilted Wall Hangings
Every detail is important to the overall end product, and Block-by-Block strives to produce a quality product that exceeds the client’s expectations.
